What is a channel?
A channel is a collection of images or content. Your FrameChannel slideshow is comprised of your active channels. Each channel has its own settings to define how many images from that channel go into your entire slideshow. Some channels like weather only have 1 slide, while others like My Photos might show 50+ images.
Yes! Please contact us for more information on SignChannel.
Check our list of compatible frames. If your frame isn't listed, please contact us.
Why do you need my location during registration?
By providing your frame's location, we'll be able to better suggest appropriate content such as regional news and weather.
Why do you need my email?
We ask for your email address in the event that you should need to reset your password or contact our customer support. If you enter an invalid email we’ll have no way of contacting you when your message comes in!
We also need your email in case you forget your password and need to reset it.
With the exception of administrative e-mails regarding our Services and products or notices of any updates to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, you have the opportunity to opt-out of any email correspondence.
What is the difference between a PIN and a Password? Your PIN is a unique identifier that we use to create your FrameChannel slideshow and send it to your frame. It is part of pairing your frame to your FrameChannel Account. Your Password is what you use to log into the FrameChannel.com site. Why do I need both a PIN and password? We require both a PIN and a password for added security. If your frame is not on a password-protected wireless network, your PIN is not secure. For this reason, we require a separate, secure password that is encrypted when you log into the website. Why isn't my City or Country in the registration list or the weather channel? These selections are based on population. If you don't see your city or country listed, please let us know and we'll add it to our database. Can I manage multiple frames on one account? You can only have one content set per account. You can run your account on multiple frames at a time, but each frame will display the same content. Who can see the pictures in my account? Unless you add pictures to a public or group channel, or share them with your invited friends, you are the only one who will see images in your account. No other FrameChannel user will ever see images you upload or add to your account unless specifically approved by you (such as in the case of a public user generated or group channel, or as a contributor to your friends' accounts). The FrameChannel staff may need to log into your account in the event that you submit a customer service request or experience problems with your account. What is the difference between purchasing one of the framechannel-compatible frames and any Wifi frame that supports RSS? Framechannel-compatible frames are often easier to set up. Also, we can provide advanced help in diagnosing problems on compatible frames. We have all the frames we are compatible with in our office (PhotoVu, Samsung, Digital Spectrum, Momento, D-Link and Kodak). If you have a frame that we don't have and run into an issue, we will do our best to help you out but won't have the same frame on which to test and diagnose your problem. I have a frame that isn't listed on your site. Can I still use FrameChannel? We only work with wifi enabled frames. Please check our list of compatible frames. If you don't see the frame you're looking for on this list, email the manufacturer directly to inquire about their ability to work with FrameChannel. How do I set up my frame with FrameChannel? Review our instructions for all of our FrameChannel compatible frames. How do I integrate Picasa/Flickr/Facebook®/Webshots into my FrameChannel account? Go to Create a Channel, select the photo-sharing site you use and follow the instructions below: Grant access to your account by entering your sign in credentials for the photo-sharing site you selected. After granting access, you will return to FrameChannel and should then see a screen where you can name your channel as well as select which albums you want to display. Once it is set up, any updates made to your photo-sharing account will automatically be reflected in your FrameChannel account. How do I integrate MobileMe(.Mac)/MSN/Photobucket into my FrameChannel account? For the above listed sites, you'll need to locate the RSS feed associated with your photo-sharing account. Follow the links below for your site to find out where it is located. Once you locate your desired RSS feed, go to Create a Channel and select the appropriate site, enter the feed address and name your channel.

Can I select all my Picasa albums?
You can only select one Picasa album per channel. Currently, you need to create a channel for each album in your Picasa account. An alternative solution is to create an album in Picasa for all the images you want to display on your frame. Then, create your Picasa channel and select that album.
Can I have more than one Flickr/Picasa/Facebook®/Webshots account associated with my FrameChannel account?
While we hope to make this feature available in the future, currently you can only pair one account to your FrameChannel account.
Can I have more than one MobilMe(.Mac)/MSN/Photobucket associated with my FrameChannel account?
Yes. All you need is the RSS address from any account and you can create a channel to display content from that account.
To find the RSS feed on any of the above sites, visit the following links:
Photobucket
MobileMe(.Mac)
MSN

How do I adjust the rules (days of the week, number of slides, etc.) for a channel?
To adjust the channel rules, go to My Account and click on the "Edit Channel Rules" link on the upper right. You can adjust the rules for each channel on this page by clicking Rules link under each channel name.
How do I delete a custom user generated or group channel?
You cannot delete these channels. To have them deleted from our site, go to the channel details page for this channel. Copy the url (example: http://www.framechannel.com/rss/viewFeed.php?channelId=23615) and contact us, pasting the url into your email, to have it removed.
Whenever we add channels or a new category of channels, we feature a selection of them. Featured channels appear in rotation on both the FrameChannel home page and as the default list in find a channel.
Not all channels offered in English have content that can be translated. We make available the content that can be provided in each language.
No matter what your native language or site-viewing preferences, you can still get channels that we offer in other languages. On the Find a Channel page, simply click the language you want to see content for and a new category list and list of channels will appear. We always welcome new channels. In most cases, simply creating a User Generated channel will suit your needs. Please contact us for information on becoming a commercial content provider.
The size limit is 2MB.
Your photos were either too large (photos over 2MB will be rejected) or they weren't the right file format. You can only upload .jpg or .gif files under 2MB.Is there a way to delete all the images in My Photos at once?
No. There is no mass delete feature; you must delete each image individually.
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works--such as blog entries, news headlines, and images. Click here for the wikipedia article on RSS feeds.
Verify that it is in fact an image-only feed by plugging the feed address into your browser. If you see thumbnails and some text, it is actually a text feed. Since the feed contains thumbnails, we cannot stretch them to fit the screen as the quality of the image is too poor. If you create the channel as an RSS text feed, you can still get the thumbnail and any associated text.
If your feed is in fact an image-only feed and works in your browser, please contact us and be sure to send us the feed address in question.
Double check that you've copied the correct address (example- http://www.techcrunch.com/rss). Then, plug that feed address into your browser. If you can see the feed and its still not working in FrameChannel, email us the feed address and we'll look into it.Once you receive an invitation email from your friend, simply attach pictures to an email and send it to: "username@framesend.com". Using a camera phone, just enter "username@framesend.com" as the recipient of a picture message. (Be sure to enter your friend's username!)
How do I upload images to my friend's account?
After your friend invites you to send photos, when you log into your FrameChannel account that is associated with the same email address that your friend sent the invitation to you will see "My Friends Channels" appear next to My Channels on your channel page. Click on My Friends' channels to see the list of your friends' channels. Click on the channel name and upload your images. Any uploaded images will appear in your friend's My friends' photos channel and will show your email address as the contributor.
Emailed photos are set to default to inactive until you approve them. Go to My Account and click on the last tab, "Email and camera phone settings" make sure your Allow settings is set to either All email to username@framesend.com or Only those I have invited/accepted as friends to send pictures. Your "By default, emailed photos are" should be set to either Active or Active for all invited users, inactive otherwise. If images weren't set to default as active you will have to manually check them off to activate them.
If you're sure all your settings and defaults were correct, check the email address and the email that was sent. If your friend was invited right before they sent the email, try sending the images again.
Go to the Slideshow settings page and select your desired country. The city list will have one city per time zone, so choose the appropriate one for your desired time zone.
The priority you give to a channel determines how many images from that channel will appear in your slideshow relative to your other channels. The higher you set the priority, the more images you will see on your frame. Most people set the priority high for my photos and photosharing sites and set the priority low for channels such as RSS feeds, trivia, etc.
With the old channel rules, this was controlled by the max # images field. The default settings we provide should give you a good mix of content.
For channels like weather, traffic, and sports scores, where there is really just 1 image that updates throughout the day, there's no need to adjust the priority - you'll always see 1 image.
There are two places you can randomize your content - the slideshow level and the channel level.
Slideshow level:
You can randomize your whole slideshow so that channels will mix in with each other when they display on your frame. Example: if you randomize your feed you'll see a few images from my photos, then weather, then sports scores facebook, more my photos, stocks, facebook, etc.
If you don't randomize your feed, your channels will always display in order (my photos, weather, flickr, traffic... then this pattern would repeat).
Channel level:
If you select random, your photos will display in random order. If you don't randomize a channel, the images will show up in the same order every time.
Note: even if randomized, when you add new photos to my photos or a photosharing site, those newly added photos will be favored for 48 hours after adding them
There are a few reasons this might happen. If you don't have many channels or photos there will be some repetitions.
Another reason this can happen is if the priority is set very low for a channel with many images (like my photos or a photosharing site). If you have 500 images in my photos and the priority is low, you may see 5-10 slides that will cycle through for awhile until the frame refreshes (most frames refresh every 15min).
If you're seeing a lot of images repeat, check the priority and increase it. You might also want to randomize your feed and channels to mix the content a bit more.
The duration setting determines the length of time in seconds each image in a channel will play. You should set this to high for text channels and lower for photos.
Play time lets you decide when you want a channel to play. For example, you may only want to see traffic in the morning. Some channels, like stock quotes you don't need to see on the weekends so you could set that to weekdays.
You can decide what hours of the day you'd like to define as morning, daytime, and evening.
You can choose a time of the day to have your device display just a blank screen. It's like a screen saver for your frame! This will be available in the near future and will be editable once it is available for use.
Click on the channel thumbnail and then click Configure this channel. You will then see 2 buttons: "edit channel rules" and "slideshow settings". If you only want to edit settings on that channel, click "edit channel rules" if you'd like to adjust other channels, click "slideshow settings".
